Teriara Talk
Calls that stay yours.
Teriara Talk is a private video call app for calls and messaging in your browser. It runs at talk.teriara.com, with an Android app in beta by direct download. Calls are recorded so follow-ups can be drafted; the host can pause recording. Recordings are encrypted at rest.
Calls and messages in one place
Teriara Talk brings browser calls and messaging together. If you are looking for a unified messaging app, Talk pairs messages with video calls, so the conversation and its follow-through have one home. There is no meeting bot joining your call. The host can pause recording when the group needs a break or wants to continue without recording.
Recordings are encrypted at rest. That describes protection while stored; it does not describe encryption during a call. If privacy matters for a particular conversation, tell participants when recording is active, agree on what should be discussed, and pause recording when appropriate. For a broader checklist, read AI note-taker privacy: what to check before you record and Teriara's privacy details.
You may see searches for secure video call app, encrypted video call, or free private video call. Those phrases do not tell you how a particular service protects a call. Check its current recording, encryption and participant-control details. The specific Teriara Talk claim is that recordings are encrypted at rest and the host can pause recording.
How it works in three steps
- Open Talk in your browser. Visit talk.teriara.com to use Teriara Talk for calls and messaging. An Android beta is available by direct download.
- Have the conversation. Talk records calls so a follow-up can be drafted. The host can pause recording during the call.
- Review the follow-up. Teriara prepares a draft for you to review, edit and send. Nothing is sent without you. See how follow-ups are drafted.
A video call in browser can be a practical choice when you want to join without installing a desktop program. Check that everyone can open the link, choose a suitable place to talk, and confirm whether recording is on before you begin. Talk currently offers its web app and Android beta; other app availability is described below.
Who Teriara Talk is for
Talk may suit friends, clients, collaborators and small teams who want calls and messaging with a follow-up draft afterward. It can help when the next email or reply matters as much as the conversation itself, but you still want to check every draft before sending.
For a useful call, agree on the purpose and who needs to attend. During the conversation, name decisions and next steps clearly. Afterward, review the draft for names, dates and commitments before you send it. The follow-up page explains a simple way to turn a conversation into a clear note.
If you are comparing secure video calls, ask what a service records, how it protects stored recordings, and what controls the host has. Search terms such as “secure video call” or “encrypted video calls” are not enough to establish a product's protections. Compare the stated details and choose based on the sensitivity of your conversation.

Frequently asked questions

There is no single answer for every call. Check what is recorded, how recordings are protected, and what controls the host and participants have. Teriara Talk recordings are encrypted at rest, and the host can pause recording.
Is Discord video call encrypted? Are Discord video calls encrypted?
Encryption details can change, so review Discord's current security information for the call type and settings you use. Do not assume that a service's use of encryption means recordings or every part of a call have the same protection. For Teriara Talk, the stated fact is that recordings are encrypted at rest.
Is a WhatsApp video call end-to-end encrypted? Are WhatsApp video calls encrypted?
Check WhatsApp's current official information for how encryption applies to calls and any related backups or recordings. Encryption can describe different stages of data handling, so read the scope carefully. Teriara Talk recordings are encrypted at rest; this describes stored recordings only.
What is a video call app, and how do I video call?
A video call app lets people speak over live video using connected devices. In general, open the service, start or join a call, and check your camera, microphone and recording settings. Teriara Talk works in a browser at talk.teriara.com, and it records calls so follow-ups can be drafted.
What is the best video call app?
The best choice depends on who needs to join, which devices they use, and the privacy controls your call requires.
